DPS numbers2010-02-26 00:00:00First off, someone was shouting for a pug BT, so I /tell them. He asked my spec, stats, and DPS. When I told him my DPS, I didnt hear back from him anymore. lol. My DPS by my observation has been 900~ish. So I figured he must be looking for the 2k dps I always hear about. <br />My gear isn't great, but it isnt total crap either. I'm wearing the 4 piece scourge set, Kara drop helm, kara gun, pvp boots, cloak of craft, necklace of the deep, felsteel bracers (my next upgrade). Every piece of gear has top enchants, glyphs...

Attrubute confusion2009-04-07 00:00:00I have a 47 Frost mage but I get confused on what stats I really need to be looking for. I'm not great at all the math part of how it all works out so if you go that route as explanation I still won't understand. I know pitiful especially if you knew my age! Anyway when I get gear do I need to concentrate on frost spell damage, spell damage, intellect or crit damage. I just don't see a way of actually balancing them all out evenly so if someone could help me know in what order of importance I should concentrate those stats when I buy or get gear it would help a lot. It also seems people tend to believe that Stamina over Spirit is better, so I kinda follow that rule. Any help to clarify would help. Thanks in advance!!part of the reason people take stamina over spirit is when mages level we get enough of it to keep going, but we dont get much stamina to help stay alive .
now alot of the stuff that drops at 47 has really bad sp . unless u r a twink no piont in getting all of it . dont get me wrong some sp is good but alot of it is really weak on other stats .
just go with pure sp i think at 47 there is no pure frost damage except a small weapon enchant that isnt worth it , also a potion for plus 15...

as a hunter myself i would say that if it is any kind of even fight ur in trouble.
under lv 50 ur best chance would be to freeze the pet, polly the hunter.
after that i guess you would have to try and kill me with vairous bolts and spells ans whatever.
after lv 50 it gets a lot harder for me. i once fought a lv 53 mage on my lv 50 hunter and got owned, hardcore.not true i play a 41 frost mage and can own just about any huntard that fights me just throw up the barrier frost nova the huntard for the +50%% add to crit and 2-4 shot any huntard u ever fight. It's based on armor and skills, if you have non then your screwed.fd will stop any spell cast in its traks
and a hunter hits so fast you can ues any spell on him ulease you get lucky and becuz a mage will have cloth armour hunters will hit so hard you'll cry but mages good just not agenst hunters if you like dueling duel a warriorwell i got some that can work and always worked.
when i face a hunter:
1. Ice barrier
2. Believe it or not run straight to the hunter.

Spell haste2009-04-07 00:00:00With WOTLK, spell haste seems to be a larger factor in the gear being given out than during BC days... However, Im not sure what value it has in relation to spell damage.
That is to say, assuming that if I can cast faster, I can trade off some damage because Ill be pumping out the spells more rapidly. At least that is my logic, without any actual basis. But is that really so? Im not referring to a 2 second fireball or anything like that. But, as an example, am I best off with the gear that gives 20 more spell damage and no haste, or the gear that gives less dmg but +25 haste. Does anyone have any thoughts/ facts they can contribute?
